Is there a way to filter media within a thread by picture/video/text, so I could choose to only see one of the aforementioned media on a given thread?

No such function exists. Only thing you can do is run a search by members posts in the thread.

Things like that cost money, are you ready to pay for it?
It's expensive as it is running this site without charging members a compulsory membership fee.
As the site is free, I enjoy what's available.
