Never been to Exxotica but have been to AVN and also Venus for comparison. AVN is very tame compared to Venus, also much more expensive. They do a VIP pass that allows you to attend private parties where you get to see a lesbian show. Well I can confirm what you wrote about the German 'Venus' in Berlin - i was there this octobre. The only thing which didn't appeared to me is that there are many 'hardcore' sex shows. I saw just a lot of nudity and lot of female pornstars masturbating - but just very few hardcore 'couple' action.
There just a lot of people fucking privately behind the scenes, in the park or between parking service trucks behind the building. I always had to be aware of them when i wanted to take a break in the park.
Personnally I think the spanish erotic conventions show more hardcore based couple action at their shows.
To me, when i compare avn to exxxotica clips, i always have the impression that the exxxotica is more 'liberal', offers more nudity and peoples seemed to be more relaxed there.

If you go to Venus just go on Friday or Saturday.
